Toyota Upcoming Cars: When It’s Worth the Wait

Overview

Toyota is currently the 4th largest carmaker in India. It is well known for its reliable cars that are aptly priced, comfortable and great looking. Some of the most successful cars of Toyota in India are Toyota Qualis, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Innova. Toyota will be expanding its offerings by introducing some worthy new cars that have already been a success in other countries. Here is a look at some of Toyota’s upcoming cars.

Toyota Avanza

Toyota Avanza is expected to be released in mid-2015 and will fall in the price bracket of 6 to 9lakh. It is a seven seater MPV which will be a competing with Mahindra Xylo, Chevrolet Tavera and Honda Mobilio. Toyota Avanza comes as a petrol variant powered by a 1.5L, 4-cylinder VVT-i engine that churns out maximum power of 109PS. The exterior styling of this MPV presents a powerful stance with multi-reflector headlights, wide air dam, front fog lamps, prominent wheel arches, body coloured ORVMs, 15 inches alloy wheels and rear spoiler with LED brake light. The interiors are quiet classy with ample legroom and headroom. Prominent comfort and convenience features include power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, adjustable headrests, powerful air-conditioning, steering mounted audio controls, armrests and multiple storage spaces.

Toyota Rush

Toyota Rush will be another addition to the compact SUV segment of Indian car bazaar. It is expected to be launched in late 2015 and will be priced between 8 to 11 lakhs.It will be competing with Renault Duster, Mahindra XUV500 and Ford EcoSport in this segment. In India it is likely to be blessed with a 1495cc, DHOC, 4-cylinder VVT-I petrol engine which delivers peak power of 80KW. The exteriors of Toyota Rush look sporty and urban. Projector headlamps, front fog lamps, prominent wheel arches, ORVMs with turn indicators, rear spoiler with high mounted stop lamp and reverse sensors are highlights of the façade. Interiors carry a comforting feel with plush upholstery and well-spacedseats. There are lots of chrome trims which give a premium feel.

Toyota Vios

Toyota Vios is a C+ segment car that will compete with the likes of Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and Hyundai Verna in India. Expected to be launched in April 2015, the price range for this sedan will be between 8 to 10 lakh rupees. The styling of Toyota Vios is extremely futuristic and sharp. Adorned with projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, multi-spoke alloy wheels and lot of chrome accents, this sedan oozes a premium feel. The interiors also are quiet plush with two-tone finish and silver trims. Standard features include climate control with rear air-conditioning vents, steering mounted control, 2-DIN audio system and illuminated instrument cluster. It will be launched in both petrol and diesel variants powered by 1.5L petrol and 1.4L diesel engine.
